With summer knocking at our door you’ve probably been on Pinterest pinning all the summer things (Just me? Oh..🙃). Looking forward to places I want to go, visions of how I want my summer to look, people that I want to spend these special moments with, things I want to be wearing, you get it. Often Pinterest can set the standard a bit high though, where we feel it’s not achievable (which is totally ok and normal by the way) but it’s still fun to dream. You know what is achievable this summer though? Connecting more with someone close to you, choosing a weekend and getting out of town! Whether near or far, working with a big budget or small, we’re here to encourage you to take the trip! 🌴
I’m writing this from a Miami coffee shop. It’s an ideal day… sitting right in front of a window, watching people on their scooters zoom by while enjoying my iced latte. I really doubted coming on this trip. All I could think about was how much money I was going to have to spend, leaving my boyfriend and pug at home again (I just got back from a work trip), and how I should really stay home and catch up on little life chores and tasks. And then I thought to myself, wait, why NOT take the trip? Why not spend the weekend with my best friends and create memories that would last a lifetime? I sat there and I thought about all the memories I would miss out on by not coming and as funny as it sounds, I thought YOLO.
I was sitting in my Uber on my way to the hotel from the airport and my Uber driver said “You know what’s funny, you’re my 4th ride in the past 2 days talking about taking a girls trip,” and I thought to myself, heck yes!! People are taking time away from the day-to-day at home and off from work to make it a point to get together and make new memories together. And as I sit here writing this a group of 6 gals walks into the coffee shop and I just know… they decided to take the trip.
So I’m here to tell you or simply inspire you to take. the. trip ‼️ You know, the one you and your best friend have been talking about taking for years, or the one you’ve been meaning to take with your mom, your sister or cousin. Money will come and go but time with your loved ones is limited. Stop putting it off and invest in intentional time together, I promise you won’t regret it. 🫶🏼
