As we get older and the seasons of life change and evolve, it can be unsettling to look back and analyze that some of our friendships have changed too. Someone that you might've had daily interactions with have turned into an every-once-in-a-while text or call; one of your best friends recently got married or moved across the country and you feel like things are different now, or there's no rhyme or reason but it seems like the chemistry in one of your friendships has faded. You're not alone. And you're not alone in wondering if that's normal or questioning what to do about it! Our team has talked about it at length and so has Mona Chalbi in her podcast "Am I Normal" to get some statistical data behind these lingering feelings. Give it a listen!
Time for some homework (don't worry you won't be graded!). Give Mona's Friend Circle Exercise a try. We did, and found it revealed which friendships might need more attention. While we don't have all the answers in the fine details of your friendship dynamics, we do know that when it comes down to it, we need each other. And we encourage you to do what you can to continue to be the friend you want to have!
